On June 22, the Italian Postal Service will release a commemorative stamp dedicated to the Pesaro Film Festi- val, on the 50th anniversary of its founding, as part of the 2015 series “Il Patrimonio Artistico e Culturale Ital- iano” (“Italy’s Artistic and Cultural Patrimony”) issued by the Ministry of Economic Development.
At 10:30 on June 22, the stamp will be presented to the press, leading Pesaro political and community figures, and stamp collectors, at the Pescheria Visual Arts Center and Contemporary Art Museum (Corso XI Settembre 186, Pesaro).
The respective heads of the Italian Postal Service’s Central Philately Division (Pietro la Bruna), the Central-North- ern Region (Gino Frastalli) and the Pesaro and Urbino post offices (Carmine Arancio) will all be in attendance.
To give the even historical and cultural import, in partnership with the president of Pesaro’s Philatelic Club, a stamp exhibit entitled “La settima arte: il Cinema” (“The Seventh Art; Cinema”) will be held from June 22-27, in the Sala Laurana of the Palazzo Ducale, presided over by personnel of the Pesaro Central Post Office. On June 22, a special “same day of issue” stamp cancellation will also take place.
