Henry Mancini 100 – Pesaro Film Festival & Conservatorio Rossini together to celebrate the composer
On the 30th World Music Day, Friday June 21st, 2024 (9.30 p.m.), the marriage of music and image returns to Piazza del Popolo for the 60th anniversary of the Pesaro Film Festival.
After the successful previous celebrations of World Music Day and on the occasion of Pesaro Italian Capital of Culture 2024, the Conservatorio Rossini and the Pesaro Film Festival will celebrate the 100th anniversary of Henry Mancini, the Italian American composer, conductor, and arranger who marked the imagination of the audience with unforgettable music scores (Breakfast at Tiffany's, The Pink Panther, Peter Gunn, Victor Victoria).
The concert will be curated by professors at the Jazz School of the Conservatorio Rossini: the arrangements of Mancini's music, made by Gian Marco Gualandi, Vincenzo Presta, and Massimiliano Rocchetta, will be performed by the Orchestra sinfonico-ritmica of the same institute. The visuals are curated by Mauro Campobasso.
Students and teachers from the Conservatorio Toscanini in Ribera, Agrigento (Italian Capital of Culture 2025) will also be involved in this event, in an ideal passing of the baton between the two communities.
