I GOONIES (USA, 1985, 114') di Richard Donner
Richard Donner is loyal to Spielberg’s aesthetic vision – most of the elements that contribute to the success of adventure books should also be found in a movie, at the risk of creating a compendium of scraps (which the term ‘Goonies’ playfully and self-deprecatingly hints at). He combines the fantastic and the comic, the joy of rascalry and the praise for the intrepid American youth, the sweet-home myth and the satire of several film genres into a story that, if Mark Twain would have liked it in the past, would satisfy all kinds of audiences today. […] All the pieces work fine together, from the set design to cinematography, to Dave Grusin’s music, in a merry-go-round with plenty of plot twists […] in which the masterly-directed budding actors seem to belong to the same lineage as the Ulysses and James Bonds.
