By retracing his father’s steps in the lead-up to the Srebrenica massacre, Hasanović outlines a dual portrait: that of a family in peacetime and a people at war. “The film focuses on incommunicability, the inability of a father and a son to talk about the war. Ado Hasanović is a Bosnian film director and festival programmer based in Rome and a member of the EFA and of the Association of Filmmakers in Bosnia and Herzegovina. He earned his degree in directing from the Sarajevo Film Academy in 2013. He went on to specialise in film directing at the Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia in Rome. Besides his work as a festival programmer, he is the creator of Cortovisioni - How to Make a Short Film, and the founder of the Silver Frame Film Festival in Srebrenica. His short films, such as The Angel of Srebrenica (2010), Mama (2013), Pink Elephant (2017), Nomofobia (2018), and Let There Be Colour (2020) have been selected and awarded at several international film festivals. His debut documentary, My Father's Diaries, premiered at Visions du Réel and is now showing at the Pesaro Film Festival.
