USCIVAMO MOLTO LA NOTTE (Italia, 2025, 75’) di Stefano Pistolini
With the presence of the director

In the early 1980s, Florence transformed from an aristocratic destination for tourist contemplation to the capital of emerging youth cultures. Phenomena called “Rinascimento Rock” or “Fauna d’Arte” sprang up there, and the now sleepless city exploded with creativity, hedonism, and experimentation. How did all this come about?

Stefano Pistolini is a film director, journalist, and TV author. He also wrote several essays and novels. His films include Skateboard Confidential, Nevergreen, or Killer Plastic-o. Tu ti faresti entrare?, and social investigations on Stefano Cucchi and on femicides.

In Rome, there were kids who would steal sparks from American Hardcore to create a clandestine tradition made of sweat, worn tapes, and punk saints. In Florence, the nights of the 1980’s would become shimmering experiences: Pelù screamed in the alleys, Bruno Casini opened portals, and the town danced like a sleepless creature covered in sequins and nicotine. Then came the silence of the pandemic. Cosmo set up a big party with no social distancing and brought the stars inside a marquee. Meanwhile, The Longest Shadow lay across landscapes like a record dreamed by a plotless cinema: visual poetry, presage, songs that exist even before they are sung. Zagor would ride across all this on a horse. The Camillas would laugh in people’s faces, and the Late – à la Pirandello – Wall of Sound became a pirate ship: “C’mon, let’s go!” But where? Roads to Nowhere does not know. All in all, it doesn’t care to find out!
