A gloomy, nocturnal Palermo. A girl drives all night for no apparent reason. Is she looking for something or someone? Or, maybe, is it a feeling of endless loneliness that makes her stop at all night clubs and meet all kinds of men? Truth is elusive, and life can get lost in the coils of a disturbing dream.
“Turno di notte was initially conceived as a storyline for a comic book. The central idea then became the core of my first experiment with animation. I also wanted to try and forge a fresh image of the city of Palermo, far from the usual Mediterranean stereotypes and closer to noir, horror atmospheres.”
