New section Open Access Cinema
The 57th Pesaro Film Festival has launched a new section, Open Access Cinema, curated by Gianmarco Torri.
The section is accompanied by an e-book with the same title that will be available for free on the Festival’s website and major distribution platforms from Monday, June 21st. The e-book Open Access Cinema features articles and essays by Adriano Aprà, Karianne Fiorini, Oliver Hanley, Tommaso Isabella, Maurizio Marras, Désirée Marianini, Rick Prelinger, Federico Rossin, Dwight Swanson, Gina Telaroli, and Wu Wenguang.
Conceived at the end of a year over which film festivals have been obliged to be held online, the section Open Access Cinema tries to imagine new perspectives and variations of the ‘festival form’ as well as of film curatorship in the digital domain.
Pursuing this avenue, six curators have been invited to share their critical outlook and curated online programmes resorting to freely accessible online resources that, paradoxically, have rarely been accessed.
These programmes will run every day on the platform Zoom, from Monday June 21st to Friday June 25th 4pm through 6pm. An Italian-English simultaneous translation is provided.
The Open Access Cinema complete programme and presentation can be found here.
